Our Story
KapwaCare was founded on the Filipino principle of 'Kapwa' — a shared identity. We believe that caring for others is an extension of caring for oneself.
Starting in Calgary, we set out to build a home care service that treats every client like family. We combine modern technology with traditional values of respect, compassion, and genuine human connection.
While our heritage is Filipino, our care is for everyone. We serve adults and seniors of all backgrounds, bringing cultural competency that benefits all families. Our caregivers speak multiple languages including English, Tagalog, French, Mandarin, and more.
What is Kapwa?
"Kapwa" is a Filipino concept that has no direct English translation. It means "shared identity" or "shared self" — the recognition that we are all connected.
In practice, Kapwa means treating others as you would treat yourself. When we care for your loved one, we don't see them as a client — we see them as part of our extended family. This philosophy guides every interaction, every care plan, and every moment of connection.
